If you are into capturing lightning strikes, then you can active the trigger’s Lightning Mode which allows it to detect lightning and trigger the camera at the precise moment. Meanwhile, it also has a Sound/Bulb mode which activates the flash when it detects sound. This setting is ideal for photo shoots at dark rooms or areas. For quick movements like water droplets and explosions, the Laser Mode ensures that these events will be captured with precision.

 

Recording movement over a certain time period is also possible through the Miops Smart Trigger’s Time Lapse Mode which gives you the freedom to stop documenting whenever you wish. To make your pictures more realistic by getting additional, the High Dynamic Range Mode can also be activated. This time, you can attain HDR shots without doing it manually. The camera can also be activated using any external signal when the Do-It-Yourself mode is used. Finally, you can practice more creativity under the Scenario mode by optimizing scenarios of up to five steps with variable or fixed sensor settings.

 
Miops Smart Trigger Shutter Modes
 


 

Adjusting the shutter’s opening can also be done via the Press and Lock or Press and Hold modes. The Press and Lock opens the shutter upon the tapping of the smartphone screen. At next tap, the shutter closes. Meanwhile, the Press and Hold keeps the shutter open as wished and it is activated via the circle button on the app. Likewise, the Timed Release mode allows the photographer to open the shutter for a definite time period. All these shutter modes can only be done via the compatible smartphone application which is available for iOS and Android platforms.

 
Miops Smart Trigger Camera Cables
 


 

The Miops Smart Trigger is compatible with most digital cameras. However, you would have to use the specific camera cable to connect it with the trigger. For example, the Miops Camera Cable Nikon N1 is reserved for professional-level DSLRs such as the D4S and D810 to name a few. Meanwhile, the Nikon N2 cable is for the D70 and D80 cameras. Use the Miops Nikon 3 cable for entry and mid-level Nikon DSLRs like the D3300 and the D5500.

 

As for Canon cameras, the Canon C2 is for Powershot, Rebel, Kiss, and entry-level DSLRs such as the EOS 650D and the Powershot G1X. The Canon C1 cable is perfect for professional-level DSLR like the EOS 5D Mark III and the EOS 7D Mark II. Sony also has two compatible cables for the Miops Smart Trigger. The Sony S1 cable is used for full-frame cameras such as the Sony A77 II and the Sony A900. On the other hand, The Sony S2 cable is for smaller digital cameras like the HX300 and the RX100 III. Miops has also produced connecting cables for Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, and Samsung cameras.

The retail package of the Miops Smart Trigger includes the Rechargeable Lithium-Ion BL-5C battery which has a 1020 mAh capacity and 3.7V output. It also comes with a Flash Connection Cable that connects the trigger to a PC. Not to be forgotten is the USB Charger Cable for the replenishment of the battery’s power level.
