- March 31, 2007Did you know that Camera-Warehouse has a free classified ads service? If you have an old camera or some old camera equipment, why not sell it to fund your next upgrade?
The service is very simple to use, the ads last for 6 weeks and, best of all, it's completely free, so why not check it out...
Camera-Warehouse Camera Classified Ads
In reality, the service has been running since June last year, but we're amazed to find that very few people use it. If you have any ideas as to why, please let us know!
NOTE: the service is for non-commercial use only. If you are interested in advertising commercial products or services via Camera-Warehouse, please send us an email. Thank you.

- March 31, 2007We've received stock of the Canon IXUS 70 today, much of which has sold today, and we're expecting more IXUS 70, IXUS 75 and PowerShot TX1 early next week. We've been told that allocation on these new models is very, very tight, and nobody is going to get many units of anything. We are expecting to receive more than enough to cover existing backorders, but not by much. For the best chance to be holding one of these cameras, place your pre-order now:

- March 30, 2007Busy, busy, busy...that's us, working hard to provide you with the broadest range of products at the lowest possible prices. As the latest innovation to our website, we are now offering a list of what we think are probably the best camera deals and special offers in Australia.
If you're a regular visitor to our site, you'll know that we offer a bespoke quote service for any orders totalling 3 or more items. That's 3 of the same product, 3 different products, or a combination of the same and different...you get the idea!
Anyway, as promised, we are happy to announce that these offers will now be made public. So, if someone has been given a crazy deal on a Canos EOS 400D bundle, for example, everyone has the opportunity to buy at the same price - you benefit from the hard negotiation skills of our other customers. We reckon that's only fair.
As ever, there are some rules. The quotes provided are based on stock and pricing information at that time, which is obviously subject to variation.

- March 23, 2007Further to our 'site update' news from a couple of days ago, I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of a feature that we're hoping will be launched VERY soon - our product comparison tool.
This allows you to compare the specs of different models of digital camera, including those from different brands, side-by-side. For example, you will soon be able to compare the new Nikon D40X against the Nikon D40.
We're busily loading up the tech specs of all the most popular digital cameras on the site. If you come across one that's missing, please send us an email and we'll try to prioritise that product.
In the meantime, we'd like to hear if you think this is a good tool or not and whether you think it can be improved and how, so please let us know using the comment form below. Thank you.

- March 22, 2007We're pleased to announce that we will very shortly be adding Samsung digital cameras to our range. This follows the recent announcement of the Samsung S850, S1050, S730and S630 digital cameras.
The appeal of Samsung cameras lies primarily in their value. The highest-spec'd of the cameras announced is the S1050, which comes with a 10.1 megapixels sensor and 5x stabilised optical zoom. The camera also boasts shutter speeds down to 1/2000 sec and ISO equivalent of 1600. Combined with the image stabilisation, this provides a solid basis to capture great images in difficult conditions, for example when there's low light. The camera is fitted with a 7.6cm (3-inch) LCD screen, uses AA batteries, and will sell for around the mid-$400 mark (TBC). The S850 has similar features, but offers 8.1 megapixel resolution and a 6.2cm (2.5-inch) LCD screen.
The budget-level S730 and S630 digital cameras offer 7- and 6- megapixel resolutions respectively. Both come with Samsung's proprietary image

- March 21, 2007We've just received word that the new Manfrotto 190X and 190XPROB tripods will be available within the next few days. In their press release, Manfrotto says:
"Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto patented horizontal centre column feature even easier to use.
Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved."The 190XB is built on the same foundation as the XPROB, but without the horizontal centre column, making it slightly lighter and more compact.
Pre-orders for both models available this week.
