What do you get when you have four built-in microphones that allows you to record Ambisonic, true VR 360-degree audio? An experience that is unforgettable in all the videos you're going to use it. With VR productions becoming prevalent nowadays, Zoom's H3-VR360 Degree VR Audio Recorder is everything you'll need for projects that require the best quality surround audio at an affordable price.
Users can record up to 24-bit/96kHz in Ambisonic sound. Additional modes include stereo binaural and standard stereo formats. These added modes are helpful if you intend your audience to listen to regular two-channel stereo headphones and speakers during the recording process. Furthermore, you won't need to worry about the faithfulness of your VR video's audio to the perspective and panning you need. Zoom's proprietary Auto Mic Position Detection allows you to achieve balanced recordings with true audio positioning every time.
Ambisonic microphones are a dime a dozen. However, the Zoom H3 VR360 can deliver an exceptional true 360-degree audio recording that easily converts Ambisonics A to Ambisonics B. You won't even need a computer to do this. The recorder itself is the encoder and decoder at the same time. Imagine all the time you'll save during audio post-production!
Whether you're live streaming, direct recording audio from different locations, or just need surround-sound recording for your media, you can't go wrong with the Zoom H3-VR360.
Product Features in Detail
A Wide Variety of VR Audio Formats
The gyro Ambisonic microphone comprised of four multi-directional cameras spell full 360 VR audio capable of bringing to life 5.1 surround sound systems, but one that's not going to make your storage devices explode. Aside from a full 360, you can record stereo binaural WAV files up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. You can even record audio designed for stereo listening through speakers and headphones with WAV files up to 24-bit/48kHz resolution.
Six-Axis Motion Sensors That Guarantee 360-Degree Full-Sphere Recordings
Having a Six-Axis motion sensor is hugely helpful in achieving lifelike 360-degree full-sphere recordings. Despite the Zoom H3-VR360's orientation, the auto microphone positioning mechanism can calibrate itself, allowing you to receive a true 360-degree sound that complements the perspective and auditory balance of your VR videos.
Rugged and Few Mechanical Parts
The more knobs a device has, the easier it would allow dust, particles, and moisture to seep inside. With few mechanical parts -- namely a single knob to change audio settings, the Zoom H3-VR360 is one of the best audio recorders you can bring virtually anywhere without difficulty.
Can Process Audio Within The Device Itself
The H3-VR360 can convert Ambisonics A to B without having to use a computer. You can eliminate so much time in audio conversions and focus on in-depth audio post-production after your shoot.
Powered by AA Batteries
The Zoom H3-VR does not come with its own AA batteries. However, this allows you to swap out its batteries in real time. The device is compatible with Ni-Cd, lithium, and alkaline AA batteries.
