Zoom F6 Field Recorder

Zoom’s F6 Field Recorder is a portable and powerful audio recorder for location recording, live production and post-production. Featuring six times high-gain plus low-noise mic preamps, 32-bit float recording, and the ability to record six inputs and stereo mix, the F6 is the perfect choice for anyone working on location or in a remote studio. It's also ideal for professional videographers who need to record synced sound from multiple cameras and microphones.

The F6 can simultaneously record up to 6 channels of 24-bit/96kHz audio (up to 5 channels plus 1 stereo mix) directly to SD or USB memory cards or external drives. This makes it an ideal tool for capturing high-resolution audio during production shoots, or for archiving your recordings in digital format.

It can also record in Ambisonics B-Format (also known as 4VSB), which allows you to capture surround sound content with only two microphones placed at 90 degrees to each other. The included Zoom AutoMix software automatically balances out room tone so that you don't have to spend time processing your recordings after they've been made.

With its rugged metal housing and 6 bus power options - including AA batteries - the F6 can be powered from batteries or an external power supply – just choose between 12V DC input (with locking connector) or 5V USB power supply without locking connector.

32-Bit Float Recording

Mic Preamps
The F6 is equipped with six professional-grade preamps. Featuring a super-low noise floor (-127 dBu EIN), high gain (up to 75 dB), and selectable mic/line levels for each input, the F6 is built for location sound.

Precision Time
Keep your tracks perfectly synced even when you power down for lunch. On or off, the F6’s Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) generates time code at 0.2 ppm accuracy.

Advanced Look-Ahead Hybrid
When recording in 24-bit, the F6 uses advanced look-ahead hybrid limiters to provide overload protection. By adding a 1-millisecond delay, the limiters “look ahead” anticipating clipping before it’s recorded.

Zoom Automix™
Zoom AutoMix™ lets you keep your eyes on the action by automatically adjusting the levels of your mix to reduce ambient sound.

Fine tune your mix
The Zoom F-Control (FRC-8) gives you more flexibility in the field. With 60 mm faders and controls for trim, pan and track-arming, the FRC-8 is a must-have for any professional filmmaker.

Monitor What Matters
Use the F6 and your headphones to keep tabs on your tracks pre- or post-fader. Check levels, route signals to the left or right and set alert tones for battery and recording status.

iOS Wireless Control
The F6’s F Control APP lets you monitor signals, adjust levels, trigger transport controls, enter metadata and more from your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth.
