Enhanced Close-Focusing Capability

This fixed focal lens can focus very close. The MOD or Minimum Object Distance for the 24mm is 0.12m or 4.7 inches. Its maximum magnification ratio is 1:2. This allows photographers to come up with compositions that emphasize perspective which is unique to wide-angle lenses.

Compact and Lightweight

Weighing just  215g (7.6 oz), the lens is exceptionally light. This allows users to enjoy comfortable shooting without hesitation about carrying the lens around. Optional manual focusing is also made easier since the focus ring is positioned toward the front of the lens. This makes it easy for your thumb and index finger to maneuver.  

Silent Autofocus

OSD (Optimized Silent Drive) is employed for quiet operation. Compared with conventional AF types having built-in DC motors, Tamron has greatly reduced the drive noise and significantly improved AF speed and performance. Moisture-Resistant Construction

Infiltration of moisture is prevented by putting environmental seals at the lens mount area and other vital locations, thus giving it a Moisture-Resistant Construction.
