Documentarists, professional videographers, and one-man filming crews can cover all production bases with the Sony FX6 Cinema Camera. This third offering under Sony's cinema line allows you to capture the shots you need, thanks to its back-illuminated CMOS Exmor R sensor that delivers superb image quality and reduced noise.

This compact, cinema-grade camera also retains color accuracy with its S-Cinetone color grading which limits the need for post-processing. Meanwhile, the 4K shooting at 30 fps ensures clear and crisp footage in every recording.

The Sony FX6's imaging power is further enhanced by its 10-stop, built-in natural density filter from 1/4 to 1/128 that you can set to auto mode to adjust with the natural lighting conditions. Maintaining image clarity during low-light settings is not a problem as well due to the camera's enhanced maximum ISO of 12800.

Even if you're shooting alone, adjusting the camera's settings on the fly can be done through its Smart Grip or its touchscreen LCD panel which you can attach with the FX6 body in a number of ways. Pairing your amazing shots with enhanced sound is also possible through the built-in four-channel audio which includes two XLR inputs for external microphones.

Depending on the field of depth you need, you can use the FX6 with a variety of Sony E-Mount lenses. It is also compatible with a number of gimbal stabilizers for those steady shots while either you or the subject is in motion. Its lightweight magnesium alloy frame enhances the camera's durability regardless of shooting location or weather settings.

Wireless control is also possible through WiFi or Near Field Communication connectivity via the Sony Content Browser Mobile app. With all these capabilities fused into one spectacular camera, the Sony FX6 will not let you down when it's time to capture the scenes that will advance your narrative.

Product Features in Detail

Impressive ISO range
The FX6's 15+ stops of dynamic range provides flexibility in color grading even in challenging footages that are taken during low-light hours. The 12800 maximum enhanced ISO also maintains image sharpness so that the scenes don't look grainy.

Clear images regardless of movement
Its 627-point focal-plane, phase-detection AF covers almost the entire image area to ensure that action shots are recorded sharply. Meanwhile, switching to hybrid AF maintains clear focusing even for shallow depths of field at 4K 120 fps. Eye and Face Detection is also your best friend when focusing on people during interviews and events

One AF to rule them all
Turning on the AF Assist function switches the Sony FX6 from autofocus to manual for quicker subject selection. AF resumes once the user stops fine-tuning the focus ring.

Multiple shooting modes
Aside from the 4K 120 fps mode, this Sony cinema camera also has a Super Slow Motion shooting mode at 24 fps for enhanced storytelling through spectacular and detailed imagery.

True colours
The camera's 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling provide limitless flexibility and accurate colour rendering which are key to top-flight image grading and post-processing.

RAW SDI output
Those who would like to get the most of post-production can access 16-bit RAW output through the Sony FX6's SDI connection. The XAVC-I files are converted to RAW in either 4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160 resolution, with corresponding frame rates of 59.94, 50, 29.97, 25, 24, and 23.98.

Preset shooting modes
Aside from Standard, Still, ITU709, S-Cinetone, HLG Live, and HLG Natural, you can customize an additional 16 scene types for various preferred looks without post-production.

LCD panel with quick menu control
The 3.5-inch LCD screen allows precise manual focusing and flexible positioning on varied set-ups and rigs. It also has a one-touch control that allows you to adjust codec, picture size, imager mode, ISO, frequency, and audio levels.

Get a grip
The Sony FX6's Smart Grip and Handle has a one-button adjustment for zooming, recording, and programming of controls. It also has a dial to control the exposure that passes through the camera's iris.

Connectivity and storage
You can connect compatible accessories through the FX6's SDI, HDMI, TC, and USB ports. Likewise, saving your shots and data management is a breeze when you maximize its dual CF Type A card slots, together with conventional SDXC UHS-I and UHS-II cards. This Sony camera also has a multi-interface Hotshoe for wireless microphones.

Sturdy and lightweight
While the FX6 is about two pounds lighter than the Sony FX9, it's still as durable due to its magnesium alloy body and frame that can withstand challenging environments while adding minimum weight for better mobility.

Enhanced internal ventilation
Overheating cameras derail your shooting schedules and production timelines. The Sony FX6 prevents this from happening via its custom ventilation system that prevents thermal breakdowns even when documenting at higher resolutions and frame rates. The internal low-noise fan, heat sinks, and exhaust vents regulate the camera's temperature for smooth and continuous operation.

Catalyst Prepare software
The image stabilization, clip flag, and camera rotation that the FX6 records can be previewed or edited in Sony's Catalyst Browse or Catalyst Prepare software.
