The Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G Lens is a wide-angle cinema lens for full frame E-mount cameras. Its angle of view ranges from 84° to 44° and it offers all the advantages of a large format, delivering an expansive visual experience with outstanding resolution. The lens' resolution and color reproduction are optimized for use with 4K productions, and its optical design ensures high contrast from the center to the corners of the image. The lens enables cinematographers to capture a wide range of scenes with a single lens, including indoor shots and low light scenes that require a high shutter speed.

The lens' enhanced hybrid autofocus (AF) system delivers fast, accurate focusing even in dark environments, making it ideal for professional shooting applications. It also features an auto exposure (AE) function that minimizes problems that may arise when changing focal length or focus position during shooting. This lens is compatible with all servo zoom accessories, such as the separately available Zoom, Focus and Iris Control Units that offer convenient remote control of zoom, focus and iris positions via cable connections to the side of the lens barrel.

The optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements to suppress color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy throughout the zoom range. An 11-bladed circular aperture aids in producing a pleasing bokeh quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques. Additionally, the lens features a manual focus ring that offers lag-free linear response for more intuitive manual control when shooting without AF.
