The Sony DVF-EL1 OLED Viewfinder is a premium electronic viewfinder designed specifically for the Sony FX5 Cinema Line Camera, providing filmmakers with a bright, detailed, and highly accurate viewing experience for demanding professional productions. Ideal for outdoor shooting and critical focus applications, the DVF-EL1 enhances monitoring precision while offering flexible positioning for comfortable operation.

Featuring a 0.58-inch OLED display with an ultra-high 7.08-million-dot resolution, the DVF-EL1 delivers exceptional image clarity, high contrast, and accurate color reproduction. The high-resolution panel makes it easier to evaluate focus, exposure, and fine image details, even in bright daylight where LCD screens can be difficult to view.

With 0.90x magnification, the viewfinder provides a large, immersive viewing experience that supports precise framing and manual focusing. Designed exclusively for the FX5, it mounts securely to the top of the camera, creating a stable and reliable monitoring solution for handheld, shoulder-mounted, or tripod-based shooting.

For greater shooting flexibility, the DVF-EL1 features a 90° upward tilting mechanism, allowing operators to maintain a comfortable viewing angle when working from low positions, high angles, or challenging camera placements.

Product Features in Detail

High-resolution, wide colour gamut panel
By attaching the detachable tilt-type OLED Viewfinder11, composition, focus and exposure can be accurately confirmed. The 0.58-type OLED panel features approx. 7.07 million dots, a wide colour gamut equivalent to DCI-P3, 10-bit display support, and HDR monitoring, reproducing fine details and rich colours with clarity.

Two magnification display modes
With support for up to 0.90× magnification12, the display can be switched to suit shooting styles. The “VF Magnification” setting lets you choose between “Standard” and “Zoom Out”, from resolution priority to enhanced visibility. It adapts to a wide range of shooting scenarios, including low- and high-angle shooting.

Vertical tilt mechanism for easy shooting
The vertical tilt mechanism allows adjustment from 0° up to approximately 90° upwards. The eyepiece cup is detachable and can be reversed from left to right, offering flexibility for various shooting styles. Removing the eyepiece cup allows the eye to be positioned closer to the eyepoint, ensuring comfortable viewing even when wearing glasses.

Integrated storage for VF terminal cap
The camera’s VF terminal protective cap can be stored inside the OLED Viewfinder body when removed. This design helps prevent loss and enables efficient handling.

Environmentally conscious
Sony's environmental plan “Road to Zero”13 aims for a zero environmental footprint by 2050. The DVF-EL1 uses recycled plastic materials, constituting more than 59%14 of the main unit's weight, including our durable SORPLAS™ material. We are also transitioning to non-plastic packaging materials15.
