Sony A-Mount 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G2 Telephoto Zoom Lens

The Sony A-Mount 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G2 is a portrait to telephoto zoom camera lens compatible with both Sony Alpha Mount for Full-Frame Sensors and APS-C-sized image sensors. Its high-performance focusing system runs around the Super Sonic wave Autofocus Motor (SSM) to benefit smooth, fast, and quiet AF performance. Three focus hold buttons are available for locking-in focus positions to further refine the focusing abilities. Two extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements are included in the lens construction which minimizes chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range plus a Nano AR Coating to reduce lens flare, ghosting, and surface reflection to improve image contrast and light transmission. This lens yields to the f/4-32 Aperture Range with rounded nine-blade aperture and 70-400mm Focal Length.

In addition to precision optical design, Sony’s Nano AR Coating technology produces a lens coating with a precisely defined regular nano-structure that effectively suppresses reflections that can cause flare and ghosting. Sony’s SSM autofocus drive system is a desirable feature in itself, offering exceptionally smooth, quiet operation. A new LSI drive circuit takes that performance to a new level, achieving significantly faster autofocus subject tracking than previous models, and making the SSM drive system more responsive than ever.
