The Refractor Advantage
Images viewed through a refractor telescope have a certain classic quality that other telescope designs lack. Since a refractor does not use mirrors to view objects, you get a generally brighter image and a correct, right side up image is displayed. This makes it usable for viewing terrestrial objects if attached to an Alt-Azimuth mount.

Excellent vistas
It can provide excellent vistas of star fields, clusters, nebulae, galaxies, planets, the Moon and (with correct filtering or by projection) the Sun. It is also a fine terrestrial telescope when mounted on an alt-azimuth mount or a photographic tripod.
