Ideal for portaits, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Micro Four Thirds has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24mm which provides a shallow depth of field to highlight the main subject of every image. You can also depend on this lens during low-light situations thanks to its maximum aperture of f/1.4. Constructed with 16 lens elements in 13 groups, these parts include three "F" Low Dispersion Elements which can provide accurate correction for chromatic aberration. Likewise, the two Super Low Dispersion Elements that help boost image sharpness while the two aspherical lens elements reduce spherical aberrations from the edges. Fast, quiet and precise focusing is possible due to the stepping autofocus motor. Meanwhile, ghosting and flaring are limited by the Super Multi-Layer Coating. Built for optimal performance despite unfavourable weather conditions, this dust and splash resistant Sigma lens is fused with Thermally Stable Composite material which makes it functional despite hot or cold temperature. Amazing out of focus effects can be achieved by using the nine-blade circular diaphragm. The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Micro Four Thirds has a bayonet mount for additional stability and sports a 67mm filter size for additional attachments.

The Sigma 16mm 1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a high performance prime with a large aperture of F1.4 designed for APS-C Mirrorless cameras. The Contemporary line is part of Sigma Global Vision and is the perfect blend of image quality and compact size. The large aperture is great for lowlight and for creating depth of field and its small size makes it highly portable.

Stepping motor
The optical design and stepping motor deliver smooth autofocus during video shooting. The lens design fully accommodates the Fast Hybrid AF of Sony E-mount cameras for super-fast autofocus functionality. Using face recognition AF results in consistent autofocusing on faces, even as the subjects move.
