Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote On-Camera Microphone

Achieve superb audio recording with the Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote On-Camera Microphone. Though it is a lightweight and compact device, you cannot underestimate its sound capture capability that starts with its matched pair XY stereo, 1/2" condenser capsules that are improved by on-mic power and EQ controls. Unwanted noise can be filtered through the two-step High Pass Filter while popping sounds are reduced by the improved foam windscreen. To ensure that vibration will not disrupt the audio, this Rode microphone is equipped with Rycote Lyre shock mounting. Meanwhile, the billeted metal camera shoe mount ensures that the microphone is locked to the camera even if you are taking shots on the go. Powered by a 9V battery, the Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote On-Camera Microphone is also built with a Kevlar-reinforced cable and three-position level control to adjust microphone sensitivity.

Matched cardioid condenser microphones
The XY pair, high sensitivity 1/2" cardioid condensers provide natural depth in sound recording. It records the deepest bass to the highest treble with tremendous quality to provide realistic and ambient audio scenes.


Rycote® Lyre® based shock mounting system
Separating the microphone and its electronics from the mount, the Rycote® Lyre® system isolates the Stereo VideoMic Pro with elements that can cause vibrations. Thanks to its hard, thermoplastic construction, the Lyre will not wear out while it provides elasticity and reliable acoustic suspension.


High Pass Filter
The user friendly designed rear of the microphone body features the power and equalisation controls, including a high pass filter at 75Hz which is designed to cut out the noise generated by air conditioning, traffic and other undesirable low frequency interference.


Three-position level control
A -10dB PAD allows the user to reduce the sensitivity of the microphone, making it suitable for recording loud sound sources such as live music or at sporting events. Like the VideoMic Pro, the Stereo VideoMic Pro features a +20dB level boost specifically designed to provide a higher quality signal with DSLR cameras. When activated, the typically low quality camera preamp level can be reduced, resulting in a lower noise floor and much clearer recording.


Ingenious Design
The Stereo VideoMic Pro, with its ergonomic form factor, make it perfectly suited to DSLR, consumer camcorders and large-sensor video cameras. The newly designed Kevlar reinforced braided cable, as well as the improved foam windscreen, provides excellent acoustic decoupling from the camera and offers significantly lower noise transference and higher sensitivity.
