Panasonic Leica 15mm f/1.7 Summilux Lens

The Panasonic Leica 15mm f/1.7 Aspherical Lens is a Micro Four Thirds prime lens with a fixed focal length of 15mm. It provides an angle of view equivalent to 30mm on a 35mm camera, making it useful for landscapes and architectural photography. The maximum aperture is f/1.7 for low-light shooting, and the Nano Surface Coating reduces ghosting and flare for improved contrast and color fidelity.

The new optical design consists of three aspherical elements that help minimize chromatic aberrations throughout the entire focusing range, from infinity to its closest focusing distance of 0.2 meters (0.66ft). Nano Surface Coating has been applied to individual elements for improved resistance to dust, moisture and fingerprints. The lens also features manual focus override capability that maintains precise control over focus distance even when using autofocus in continuous or burst mode shooting modes. The stepped AF stepping motor provides quick autofocus with near silent operation to benefit videography applications when used with compatible Panasonic cameras that offer fulltime Live View monitoring during recording. A seven-blade diaphragm contributes to the shallow depth of field effects that are possible with this lens' wide aperture setting.

The manual focusing ring is smooth and precise for intuitive operation when composing images through the viewfinder and the integrated stepping motor provides fast, quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override at any time by simply turning the ring on the barrel.
