Aside from that it is smaller and lighter than the previous PPO-EP04 port which makes it easier to transport. The deal with polycarbonate
A naturally transparent element, polycarbonate can transmit light as good as glass. Aside from being durable and heat resistant, this material is known for its superb color stability. These elements help add to the vibrance and the quality of each picture that you take.

The hood rocks
The removable petal-shaped hood blocks unwanted light to prevent flaring in the lens. It also provides additional protection against impact. When the hood is detached, the lens port works well for over-under shots when the front glass is half-submerged in water.

Wisdom behind the dome
Because of its shape, the front glass element distorts the usual view to make objects look larger and closer underwater. In effect, you get clearer images while capturing more detail in one frame.
