The M.Zuiko ED 12-50mm F3.5-6.3 EZ Camera Lens comes with a quick autofocus driven by Electromagnetic zoom mechanism and a fast and quiet Linear motor drive system. No need to use your wrist to twist and adjust the camera barrel. Its ED and aspherical lens elements provide excellent image quality. The 12-150mm has its F/3.5-6.3 aperture for both wide and telephoto use. This lens is dust and splash-proof which is perfect to likewise weather resistant camera body.

Wide coverage
This compact Electric Zoom lens has a maximum magnification of 4.2X, covering a range that extends from a wide angle of 24mm (35mm camera equivalent) - ideal for taking wide shots even indoors - to a medium telephoto focal length of 100mm (35mm camera equivalent), - optimal for portraits. 

Two technologies
There are two technologies within this lens that make it particularly well suited to shooting video; the Auto Focus system utilizes Olympus’ MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) mechanism that employs a newly developed linear motor drive that enables faster, quieter focusing, and a newly developed motorized zoom mechanism that delivers quiet and smooth zooming. 

Electric zooming operation and traditional mechanical zoom mode
You can even remotely control the Electric Zoom function using Olympus’ free O.I.Share smart device app when mounted on a Wifi enabled OM System camera body. And although the 12-50mm features electric zooming operation, it can also be switched to a traditional mechanical zoom mode by simply moving the Zoom Ring to the mechanical zoom mode position.

Macro mode
And more, when the Zoom Ring is moved to the forward-most position it activates the Macro mode allowing close focusing down to 8 inches with a maximum image magnification of .72X. A “Status” window built into the body of the lens shows at a glance which mode is engaged. 

“FN” or function button
A lens “FN” or function button can be customized just like the function button on a camera body allowing quick access to frequently changed settings. 

Olympus’ Dust and Splash-proof construction
This lens features Olympus’ Dust and Splash-proof construction, so when it is matched with a Weatherproof OM-D body, rain, wind or snow won’t interfere with your photography. An optional dedicated bayonet attachment LH-55C Lens Hood handles harsh or stray light from causing aberration and doesn’t interfere when fitting a lens filter.
