As Nikon's flagship among DX-format cameras, the Nikon D500 has a 20.9-megapixel sensor which works with the EXPEED 5 Image Processor to capture quality pictures and videos. Speaking of video, this lightweight camera is capable of 4K UHD Video Capture at 30/25/24p and you can watch the playback via its 3.2-inch, tilting touchscreen LCD. Despite low lighting, the D500 can take great photos using its ISO range from 100 to 51,200. Likewise, no detail will be left uncaptured with the help of its 153-point AF system and continuous shooting at 10 fps. Sharing of images to other devices is also possible through the D500's Snapbridge connectionand Near Field Communication capability. File space won't be a problem for you can load compatible storage devices into its dual memory card slots.

Product Features in Detail

The power of 4K
For the first time in a Nikon DX DSLR, you can harness the power of 4K UHD video recording and 1080/60p video for up to 29 minutes, 59 seconds at 30 frames per second. Other features include a built-in interval timer and 4K UHD quality time-lapse function, which allows you to easily create 4K UHD time-lapse movies in-camera that are sure to impress.

In Full HD or HD mode, the D500's electronic Vibration Reduction function reduces the effects of camera shake in the horizontal, vertical and rotational directions during hand-held movie recording, while Active D-Lighting preserves details in highlights and shadows to capture footage with natural brightness.

Exceed quality with EXPEED 5
The D500's new EXPEED 5 image-processing engine, as used in the D5, delivers standard ISO sensitivity from 100 to 51200, expandable down to Lo 1 (ISO 50 equivalent) and up to Hi 5 (ISO 1640000 equivalent). It can capture exceptionally high-definition images, while effectively reducing noise even at high ISO settings. The new 180K-pixel RGB sensor further improves the performance of the camera's Advanced Scene Recognition System, and its flicker reduction for still images reduces exposure variations even under flickering light sources.

Have might over the light
Built into the D500 is compatibility with Nikon's new radio controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting system. Using radio control technology, when combined with the optional WR-A10/R10 transceiver, the D500 can control and wirelessly fire the SB-5000 Speedlights from another room, around corners or outdoors in bright sunlight. Access controls are easily accessed from the D500's menu and will let you shine light on even more shooting opportunities.

Sharing with Snapbridge is a snap
You can transfer your images to a compatible smart device from anywhere in the world using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to eliminate the barrier between your camera and smart device. As an added benefit, the D500’s built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) capability makes it a breeze to connect the camera to a compatible device while the built-in Wi-Fi capability allows for faster wireless image transfer. The D500 is also compatible with the optional WT-7A, enabling transmission of files to an FTP server or computer at speeds of up to 866.7 Mbps.

Tilting LCD
The 2359k-dot tilting LCD monitor ensures quality shots regardless of angle. As you adjust it, you can see the frame whether you are shooting high or low and focus on precise details.

High-speed continuous shooting
The D500 delivers high-speed continuous shooting at 10 fps for up to 200 shots in JPEG and in 14-bit lossless compressed RAW, without any drop in shooting speed. Even moving subjects can be tracked accurately across a wide field of view at this rapid rate, taking advantage of the camera's stable viewfinder image and a widest-ever diagonal viewing angle of 30.8°.

Wireless transmitter compatibility
Nikon's WT-7/A/B/C Wireless Transmitter is aimed at professionals who need to transfer images more quickly than they can with built-in wireless LAN. When attached to the D500, it allows images and movie files to be transferred to computers or FTP server via both wired and wireless LAN. The D500 with WT-7/A/B/C can be used as a wireless LAN access point, permitting easy connections with computers and smart devices.
