Graduated filter
When pictures are taken in broad daylight, the sky is often over-exposed and the glare can spill over to the ground elements. To correct this, graduated filters come to the rescue by balancing the distribution of light to avoid underexposed sections. By doing so, it also complements tones and enhances image detail. Likewise, the particular colour in the shaded part of the filter provides a certain hue that helps the photograph convey a certain mood or emotion.

Neutral Density Filter
As ND filters shorten the depth of field, they provide tremendous isolation to the subject up front. Likewise, this filter is used to soften the effects of sea waves and blowing grass to provide an ambient and time-lapse effect. ND filters can also be used to emphasize movement in a busy setting.

Graduated medium filters
