The Laowa Aurogon FF 10-50x NA0.5 Supermicro APO for Fujifilm GFX is a professional-grade microphotography system that brings laboratory-standard magnification to medium-format mirrorless cameras. By bypassing the need for complex and often restrictive microscope adapters, this modular system allows you to mount high-precision optics directly onto your GFX body. The kit includes a universal objective lens and four interchangeable magnification tubes—10x, 20x, 35x, and 50x—offering an extraordinary range of detail for scientific research, industrial inspection, and cinematic microscopic video.
A defining feature of the Aurogon system is its fixed 0.79" (20mm) working distance. Because this distance remains identical across all four magnification levels, you can swap tubes to scale your magnification without moving your subject, resetting your focus, or reconfiguring your lighting. This consistency, combined with an Apochromatic (APO) design, ensures that your images maintain razor-sharp clarity and remain free of chromatic aberrations, even at the maximum 50x magnification.
Product Features in Detail
Fixed 0.79" Working Distance
Unlike standard high-power macro lenses that require the lens to be nearly touching the subject, the Aurogon’s 20mm gap provides a reliable "lighting window." This allows you to use fiber optics, ring lights, or small LED panels with ease at every magnification level.
Professional NA Control (0.5 to 0.15)
The objective lens features an NA ring with eight distinct grades. This allows you to open the lens to 0.5 for a bright view during focusing, then stop down to the optimal NA for your specific GFX sensor to maximize the depth of field.
Superb Apochromatic Performance
Extreme magnification typically amplifies color fringing. The Aurogon’s APO design ensures that fine details—like the texture of a microchip or the crystalline edges of a mineral—remain crisp and color-accurate, even at the maximum 50x power.
Cinematic Micro-Video Capabilities
While laboratory microscopes are vertical and stationary, the Aurogon allows for horizontal mounting on a standard tripod or slider. This makes it a powerful tool for filmmakers capturing high-resolution video of chemical reactions or aquatic microorganisms.
Medium Format Resolution Advantage
When used with the Fuji GFX system, the Aurogon utilizes the expansive surface area of the GFX sensor. This produces images with incredible tonal depth and resolution, providing far more detail than traditional crop-sensor microscope adapters.
Modular Precision Storage
The entire kit is housed in a professional hard-shell carrying case with precision-cut foam. This modular design makes it easy to transport a complete "super-micro" laboratory into the field for on-site scientific research or specialized studio work.
