Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine - Nikon Z

This ultra-wide angle lens is designed for cameras with Super35 sensors. It has been specifically optimized for digital cinematography by incorporating a cine-style design with a removable focus scale and also a great choice for shooting landscapes, architecture or any scene that needs to be shot in close proximity.

The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine Lens is a wide angle lens for Super35 cameras, with an 80mm front diameter and 77mm front filter threads. The 9.84" minimum focus distance allows close-focus work, and the included front and rear lens caps help protect the lens when not in use. The 7.5mm focal length provides a 123° angle of view and an f/2.9 to f/22 aperture range, which makes it great for shooting in low light conditions and achieving shallow depth of field effects, such as low light or at night. This also makes it possible to achieve shallow depth of field effects when desired. Its 7-blade iris helps produce smooth bokeh in out-of-focus areas of the image while maintaining sharp focus on your subject, and it also includes 0.8 MOD Cine Gears that will accommodate standard cine follow focus motors.

This optical design contains 16 elements in 10 groups, including 2 ED and 2 aspherical glasses for controlling chromatic aberration to the minimal. It renders outstanding and sharp images which saves a lot of time on post-production.

Minimum Focusing Distance
The relatively short focusing distance of 25cm/ 9.84” makes it ideal for focusing on close subjects with a strong background bokeh effect.

It is also built to have a non-dome-shaped front element which allows 77mm screw-in filters to be directly attached, making it even more user-friendly and convenient, especially if you do aerial cinematography.
