Laowa 7.5mm f/2 - MFT (Auto Aperture) Lens

The Laowa 7.5mm f/2 is a manual focus rectilinear lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras. It is characterized by its fantastic image quality and compact, lightweight design. The maximum aperture of f/2, as well as the 15 mm focal length,are good for low light photography, while the minimum aperture of f/22 gives an option for greater depth of field control in darker situations. This lens features 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to combat chromatic aberration and distortions across the image plane with very high resolution at all focus distances throughout the aperture range. Frog Eye Coating has also been applied to reduce flare throughout the zoom range and maintain contrast when shooting towards bright sources of light.

World’s Widest rectilinear f/2 lens for Micro Four Third cameras.

This lens is currently the widest rectilinear lens currently in the market for Micro Four Thirds Cameras. It gives an field of view equivalent to 15mm lenses in 35mm sensors. This allows MFT users to enjoy an impressive 110° ultra wide angle of view for a wide range of shooting needs despite the 2x crop factor.

The wide angle of view and ultra-fast aperture are extremely valuable for astro-photography. This lens is super compact and lightweight for casual on-the-go use. A ultra-light version is also available for aerial photography usage.

Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT is compatible with Panasonic, Olympus & Blackmagic cameras with Micro Four Thirds mount. Lightweight version is specially designed for drones & gimbal usage with a lighter weight.

Please note that the lens has no electronics connections with the drones/gimbals and hence, no electronics control on aperture/focus.

Standard & Light-weight versions available
2 versions (Standard & Lightweight) of Laowa 7.5mm f/2 will be available to pre-order. They shared the same optical design but have a different weight. Although both of them are still metallic build, we carefully designed and replaced some of the materials to cut the weight from slightly less than 200g (Standard) to 150g (Lightweight). The Light-weight version is specially designed to work with drones.
