Laowa 17mm T1.9 Cine – MFT

The Laowa 17mm T1.9 Cine is a wide-angle lens designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras. It features a 17mm focal length and a bright T1.9 maximum aperture, making it ideal for low-light shooting, as well as shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. The optical design incorporates three elements made of fluorite and two additional elements made of high-refraction glass, which help to produce sharp images with rich color correction and minimal chromatic aberration. Additionally, the 17mm T1.9 Cine has seven rounded aperture blades that produce smooth out-of-focus highlights when used at wider apertures.

This manual focus lens has an iris diaphragm with seven rounded blades that create pleasing bokeh when shooting at wider apertures. A rear focus design enables quick focusing with short minimum focus distance of 15 cm. A removable hood is included to prevent lens flare when working in strong lighting conditions.

The Laowa 17mm T1.9 Cine is constructed from high-grade material for durability and resistance to corrosion over time. The lens features anodized black finish on its exterior for an elegant appearance that matches well with most cameras

Laowa 17mm T1.9 MFT Cine is a high speed compact lens with 65° angle of view on Micro Four Thirds sensor. This AoV is named as the most versatile focal length of any prime length that fits almost every photography genre, like wedding, travel, portrait etc. Zcam E2-M4 , BMPCC 4K , GH5 and other MFT camera would fit this lens perfectly.

Fast T1.9 Aperture
The constant T1.9 maximum t-stop allows users to film in low-light conditions without too many constraints in settings. It can render blurred background and creamy bokeh as well.

Extremely Close
The 15mm/ 5.9” minimum focusing distance becomes extra useful when shooting close up subjects. It is beneficial when rendering rather creamy bokeh with 7 aperture blades and creating smooth good subject separation from the background. 49mm filter thread for using with standard screw-in filters. Industry standard 0.8 mod gears on both aperture and focus rings. Stepless aperture ring offers smooth iris control. Both imperial and metric scale printed on the lens body.

Light and Compact
Weighed around 175g /6.17oz with tiny body size i.e. Φ56 x 53mm (2.20 x 2.08”), this lens fits well with smaller MFT cinema cameras like BMPCC 4K.
