The supercardioid pickup pattern focuses on the subject, rejecting background noise from the sides and rear of the mic. The Wavo accepts a standard 3.5mm TRS plug, so you can use it with any camera that has a mic input with TRS jacks (i.e., DSLRs). You also get a TRRS cable that lets you connect the Wavo to smartphones or other mobile devices with TRRS jacks (i.e., iPhones).
