Made from heat-resistant tempered glass, the Hoya UV Standard HMC Filter cuts out all ranges of UV rays to boost image clarity and sharpness without adjusting colour balance. In effect, it reduces the bluish hue as well as the undesired haze that UV light can bring to the image. Since this is a multi-coated filter that can also reduce ghosting and flaring by minimizing reflections, it provides an average light transmission of over 97% to balance colours and improve sharpness. Sporting a thinner design, it does not add much to the weight of your set-up while it protects the front lens element from possible damage.
