The Harman Red 125 120 Film is a specialty medium format film that's perfect for photographers exploring unique visual effects and enhanced color sensitivity. With its higher sensitivity to red wavelengths, this film produces distinctive results that stand out in creative and experimental photography. It is 120 roll film for medium format cameras. Medium-speed ISO 125, ideal for well-lit conditions, outdoor photography, or controlled studio environments. Suitable for medium format cameras capable of producing various aspect ratios, such as 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, or 6x9. Increased sensitivity in the red spectrum makes this film particularly unique—it excels in rendering rich red tones for portraits, landscapes, and creative experimentation. Perfect for capturing striking sunsets, fall foliage, or skin tones. The clear base ensures compatibility with modern lab scanners and yields excellent results in prints. The standard C-41 process is used for color-negative film, accessible in most film development labs worldwide. The film is also available in 35mm DX-coded cassettes, making it a versatile choice for photographers working with both medium format and 35mm cameras. With its medium ISO 125 speed, high red sensitivity, and compatibility with modern scanning processes, the Harman Red 125 offers versatility and creative freedom. Whether you're working in medium format for that rich detail or exploring its availability in 35mm DX-coded options, this film is tailor-made for photographers looking to create striking, memorable images with spectacular warm tones. Ideal for professionals, hobbyists, or analog experimenters!
Product Features in Detail
HARMAN RED 125
A medium speed, ISO 125, redscale film based on the HARMAN Phoenix emulsion.
Redscale is the effect you get when shooting through the back of a colour film and exposing the red sensitive layer first, creating amazing results primarily consisting of reds, oranges and yellows.
With edge signing and a box speed of ISO 125, HARMAN RED has a usable exposure range of EI 50 – 400. For best results we recommend shooting between EI 100 – 200 depending on scene brightness and contrast.
Depending upon the exposure and colour characteristics of a scene, images can range from strong “apocalyptic” looking bright orange and red tones to more subtle orange and green tones with delicate shadows.
Under exposure – Coarser grain, prominent shadows, deeper reds.
Normal exposure – Normal grain, Consistent orange tones, softer shadows.
Over Exposure – Finer grain – Brighter, more contrasty images, varying tones.
