Precisely made to maximize the mirror less design of the X-Pro1's body, the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R X-Mount Lens has a short flange back space of just 17.7mm offering high resolution right through the image. Outstanding out-of-focus bokeh are achieved via the design of the molded aperture of 7 diaphragm blades. The blades are rounded to generate a circular image at every aperture settings (F1.4 – F16); however the very edges of every blade are accurately curved off instead of being simply cut off, which provides a sharper image. Having a fast F1.4 aperture, the 35mm XF lens (135 equivalent: 53mm focal length) is perfect for low light photography.
Fujifilm introduces an all-glass aspherical lens with 8 elements in 6 groups, with the lens' refined to perfection and cured with Super EBC coating while the precision-machined 1/3-step aperture ring and high-quality metal barrel gives flexible control.
Product Features in Detail
Single-focal Length Large Aperture Standard Lens
Featuring a fast F1.4 aperture, this standard lens can render the out-of-focus parts of your images in a wonderful creamy blur and at the same time capturing with high resolution clarity the "in focus" plane. At maximum aperture, you can showcase the beautiful contrast of a magical bokeh effect and extreme definition in a single image. To acquire crisp images with a richly expressive quality, stop down the aperture.
Minimize spherical aberration
Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R Lens uses a glass-molded aspheric lens at the 5th element minimizes spherical aberration.
Bokeh of your preference
Create a natural sense of depth by getting excellent in-focus reproduction as well as a beautiful bokeh in out-of-focus areas, according to the aperture setting and the subject.
To see is to believe
With the angle of view comparable to that of the human eye, the 35mm (its 135 equivalent is 53mm) lens has a typical focal length. The lens is perfect for snapshots with the bright aperture.
Lightweight yet sturdy
The mixture of metal and high class plastics resulted to a very light weight, yet robust build. Merely 187 grams for a lens with a f/1.4 maximum aperture is certainly very lightweight, and it matches the Fujifilm X-Pro1 flawlessly with its retro design.
Easy to use
At its closest focus, the lens ranges by around 7mm. Although focusing is not done internally, the 52mm filter thread does not rotate which makes it the right choice when using polarising and graduated filters. Fine modifications are very easy to do since the focusing ring is well restrained.
This Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R Lens matches the retro design of the X-Pro1 and together with its manual aperture ring so you can coose your chosen aperture in an old-fashioned way. You'll love how easily you can make adjustments since you just need to touch it gradually to move thru the aperture range. Since the aperture ring can be easily moved, just be careful when changing lenses.
Aim and shoot
Focus speeds is great especially for motionless subjects.
Sharpness in the center of the frame is tremendously good at maximum aperture. It is particularly good at very wide apertures with better importance being positioned on sharpness in the center of the image.
Coast is clear
Sharpness levels rise, when the lens is stopped down, significantly in the central portion of the image and grasp very good levels of clearness towards the ends of the frame in between f/5.6 and f/16.
