Superb build quality
Available in solid black and solid silver, the FUJIFILM XQ1's all-metal body is of the highest quality. With a stylish upper control deck, the black body has a textured finish, while the silver body is fully anodised with a single tone finish that matches the upper deck. To maximise the power of the lens, Fujifilm has removed the optical low-pass filter from its X-Trans™** CMOS II sensor. In addition, the camera features a "Lens Modulation Optimiser," which minimises diffraction and chromatic aberrations by digitally processing images to improve sharpness and clarity. Extraordinary resolution can be experienced with simple shooting in JPEG format. The FUJIFILM XQ1 features a Fujinon 4x optical zoom that covers 25-100mm***. The adoption of highly-refractive aspherical lenses facilitates the F1.8 brightness at the widest point. Clear images are captured even in low-light thanks to 3.0-stop*4 image stabilisation and multi-layer coating technology unique to Fujinon.

World's fastest 0.06 seconds* Phase Detection AF
With its impressive phase detection AF speed of 0.06 seconds* it is the fastest in the world. Fujifim's EXR Processor II, the latest image processing engine, offers high-speed performance that captures any photo opportunity with a start-up time of 0.99 seconds, shooting interval of 0.3 seconds*5, shutter time lag of 0.015 seconds and continuous shooting of 12.0 fps (continuous shooting of max. approx. 9 frames*6). Integration of phase detection pixels into the advanced sensor. The world's fastest AF speed of 0.06 seconds* has been achieved with the on-sensor phase detection AF which brings subjects into focus in an instant with the phase detection sensor. Thanks to the synergy of phase detection AF and contrast AF bringing you precision even in low light, your subject can be captured quickly and accurately in many settings. In AF-C mode, once the focus point has been set, the movements of the subject will be accurately tracked, offering you multiple photo chances.**

The XQ1's large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II Sensor and bright f/1.8 Fujinon lens gives amazing quality results, whatever the conditions. Featuring Fujifilm's bespoke pixel array, the FUJIFILM XQ1 captures high quality images with its large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor. And you'll be able to enjoy high-speed continuous photography and Full HD movie shooting thanks to the high performance CMOS element of the sensor. With its OLPF-less architecture and 2/3-inch 12M X-Trans CMOS II sensor processing you can capture your world with crystal clarity.

Originally developed by Fujifilm for the FUJIFILM XQ1, the 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor inherits the same architecture and features of the high performance sensor found in the acclaimed FUJIFILM X-Pro1 flagship model. Adoption of BSI (backside illumination) technology enables the successful incorporation of phase detection pixels into the array without affecting sensitivity performance- the key to FUJIFILM XQ1's high-speed AF. X-Trans CMOS II adopts an original colour filter array with a highly random pattern, eliminating the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPF), which is used in conventional systems to inhibit moiré at the expense of resolution. This lets the sensor directly capture the high resolution performance of the FUJIFILM XQ1 lens. Also exploiting the enhanced performance of the EXR Processor II, Lens Modulation Optimiser (LMO) factors are calculated to compensate for aberrations and diffraction blur that occur when light passes through the lens and then are applied to produce images with amazing sharpness.

Maximum High-Speed Continuous Shooting Speed of 12.0 fps (max. approx. 9 frames)
High-speed continuous shooting that lets you capture both movement and your best shot possible. A continuous shooting speed of up to 12.0 fps max. (continuous shooting of approx. 9 frames*4 ) with a full 12 million pixels resolution has been achieved. It is effective when you want to capture constantly moving subjects such as children and pets and also when you want to choose the best shot from a series of photos. While in low-speed continuous shooting mode, AF continuous shooting is now possible at max. 4.7 fps, continuously and accurately focusing on moving subjects.

Fujinon lens with bright f/1.8 aperture produces stunning pictures in low light
The bright f/1.8 lens lets you capture quality pictures not normally possible with a compact camera. Noise is kept to a minimum without boosting sensitivity, while camera shake and subject motion are prevented due to high shutter speeds. And thanks to the large aperture, you can also create attractive "bokeh" blurred background effects.

FUJINON 4x (25-100mm) optical zoom with additional 4x Intelligent Digital Zoom
Intelligent Digital Zoom extends the XQ1's 4x optical zoom to the equivalent of a 16x zoom. It uses advanced image processing to capture the moment with amazingly sharp resolution, minimal noise and no loss of tonality.

Compact size, superb quality
Featuring state-of-the-art technologies including aspherical elements and high refractive index glass, the FUJIFILM XQ1's lens boasts a fast F1.8 maximum aperture and a slim profile that would be virtually impossible with conventional lens designs. Another important feature is Optical Image Stabilisation, which shifts one group of four elements to minimise camera shake without compromising resolution around the edges of the image, a common problem with conventional stabilization systems.

Lens Construction
By using 4 high-performance aspherical lenses, the FUJIFILM XQ1 delivers sharp image quality with rich resolution. These lenses also contribute to a more compact overall lens configuration. 3 ED lenses have been employed for their low dispersion and effective reduction of chromatic aberrations. By preventing colour fringing and reducing contrast, the FUJIFILM XQ1 lens captures images with superb accuracy across the zoom range from wide angle to telephoto. From wide angle to telephoto, and from the center of the image to the edges, the FUJIFILM XQ1's optical performance is designed to capture images with exceptional sharpness of detail and colour fidelity in every scene.

With its built-in 3.0-stop* optical (lens shift type) image stabilisation function the FUJIFILM XQ1 will help reduce blurring that occurs when shooting moving objects giving you a clear image without blurring in all kinds of scenes. With a maximum aperture of f/1.8 at the wide angle setting and a six-blade aperture diaphragm, the FUJIFILM XQ1's lens delivers beautiful defocused blur. Together with macro capabilities to within just 3cm of your subject, that means huge photographic potential in a highly compact body.

High Transmittance EBC (Electron Beam Coating) is FUJINON's unique wide-band technology developed for FUJINON broadcast-use lenses. The FUJIFILM XQ1 is the first compact camera to use the High Transmittance EBC for double sides of all glass lenses. Because highly refractive glass bends light rays more sharply than conventional optical glass, it creates greater potential for reflections which can cause ghosting and flare. HT-EBC technology effectively minimises this stray light, assuring sharp, clear images under even the most demanding conditions.

High-quality body design not only looks great, but makes controlling the camera easy and intuitive. The XQ1 comes in two stylish colours; a solid black, overflowing with class, and a highly-dignified silver. The FUJIFILM XQ1 is the lightest X series camera, and one you want to carry around with you at all times. It is uniquely designed to enable smooth shooting with only one hand. All dials and buttons are placed on one side. In addition, attention has been given to the grip location and size, as well as the angle of the shutter button, for high quality images with one-handed shooting.

3.0-inch 920k-dot LCD with "Monitor Sunlight Mode"
When bright sunlight makes composing or viewing the monitor difficult, you can use the E-Fn button to easily switch to the "Monitor Sunlight Mode" Turn on the "monitor sunlight mode" by holding down the E-Fn button. Enjoy comfortable framing and review of shots on the large 3.0-inch high-contrast 920K-dot LCD monitor made by tempered glass.

Wireless connectivity
Transfer images from the XQ1 to a SmartPhone, tablet or home computer using the in-built wireless transfer function. One touch wireless transfer to your smartphone or PC lets you share on the spot. You can easily transfer images wirelessly from the camera to your smartphone or tablet after installing the free FUJIFILM Camera Application app. There are no troublesome ID and password settings; just press the Wi-Fi® button of the top of the camera and then add the images easily to your blog or share them with friends on your social networking site. You can also use the camera's built-in Wi-Fi to save your photos to your PC.

Turn on your personal computer and select "PC AutoSave" in your camera for automatic and effortless backup of your photos to your home PC.

Full HD Movie x Film Simulation Mode
Full HD Movie (1920 x 1080) mode features 60fps for smoother capture of the action in full high definition. You can also take advantage of Monochrome and the vivid colour expression of other Film Simulation modes, and exploit the brightness of the lens to shoot movies with a dreamy "bokeh" effect. Also the new movie scene recognition function can automatically recognise 6 types of scene and optimise settings for beautiful results under a variety of shooting conditions. Even when shooting moving subjects, Auto Focus keeps the action in sharp focus. And if you are shooting scenes while walking, image stabilisation can minimise blur.

Motion Panorama 360
Just sweep the camera right-left or up-down to shoot giant panoramas up to 360°. When you view the panorama playing back on your camera or personal computer, you can enjoy a seamless panorama image with both ends stitched together to create a “cylinder” view.
