Speaking of video, this Fujifilm camera also boasts of a ACROS Film Simulation Mode for better video texture. It is also the first camera with an Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which includes an Electronic Rangefinder Mode. Speed is the name of the game for the X-Pro 2 as it has a top shutter speed of 1/800 seconds and quick flash sync of up to 1/250 seconds. You can also take advantage of its fastest autofocus of 0.06 seconds and combine it with the 7 x 7 Phase Detection AF Area. Product Features in Detail

24.3 Megapixel X Trans CMOS III Sensor

The X-Pro2 features the new 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor that uses a unique random color filter array to reduce moiré and false colors without an optical low-pass filter. By eliminating the OLPF the resolving power of FUJINON lenses is maximized to deliver images comparable to a larger, higher resolution sensor. When combined with Fujifilm's unique color reproduction technology, this enables the X-Pro2 to deliver more vivid images.

X Processor Pro

Boasting 4x the processing speed of conventional image processing engines, the X Processor Pro has increased all response times, despite the increased resolution. Write speeds, start-up time and high-speed continuous shooting speeds have all been improved. Combined with the X-Trans CMOS III sensor, the new image processing engine achieves even faster autofocus, lower noise and both tonal and color reproduction that surpasses the previous EXR Processor II.

Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder

The X-Pro2 features optical and electronic viewfinders so users can take advantage of the direct optical viewfinder or the 2.36-million-dot electronic viewfinder to preview settings. Speaking of the EVF, its speed has been increased to a maximum of 85fps while blackout time after release has also been reduced to 150ms. These improvements reduce image delay that usually comes when tracking a moving subject. For a quick glance on a few details such as white balance, exposure and angle-of-view, you can make use of the Electronic Rangefinder as well. The X-Pro2 also has a Multi-Magnification function that automatically switches viewfinder magnification according to the lens in use.

Add more drama with built-in camera effects

The X-Pro2 features the new ACROS Film Simulation mode. The improved signal processing technology of the X Processor Pro enables this mode to produce smooth tones, deep blacks and rich textures that are far superior to conventional monochrome modes. Also, you can produce images that are reminiscent of yesteryears with the Grain Effect mode.

Vastly improved Autofocus

Approximately 40% of the imaging area is now covered by fast, precise phase detection AF pixels, which improves focusing speeds especially when photographing moving subjects. With the help of the new X Processor Pro, this camera has a contrast AF readout speed that is twice as fast as the previous X-Series cameras. Shooting up to 8fps is also made possible by improvements in AF algorithm and phase detection AF accuracy.

Interval timer and wireless connnectivity

When shooting time-lapse sequences, the X-Pro2 allows intervals from one second to 24 hours for up to 999 frames. To boost the camera's functionality, you can hook it up with the Fujifilm Camera Remote app which enables you to control the camera from a mobile device. The photos taken with the camera can also be imported to smartphones and tablet PCs with a one-touch operation.

Sleek but strong

The X-Pro2's body is made from rigid magnesium alloy and is sealed in about 61 places to make it splash and dust resistant. It will also continue to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C so it can be used almost anywhere and any conditions. The body's aesthetics is improved by a semi-gloss finish which adds a luxurious touch.

Easy access to main controls

Just like the cameras of old, the ISO sensitivity dial is now built-in to the shutter speed dial. This means camera settings can be confirmed at a glance without having to turn the power on. A command dial position which expands the range to ±5EV has also been added to the exposure compensation dial. There's also a center-weighted metering for optical viewfinding and a focus lever for quick focus point selection.

The UI is on a high

A maximum of 16 frequently used items can be registered to the new My Menu feature. When combined with the Q Menu, you can create a total of 32 shortcuts. Likewise, new categories have been added to the tabs on the menu screen. In optical viewfinder mode, you can also make use of the Bright Frame Simulation function which enables the quick changing of lenses by confirming the angle of view for each focal length.

Compatible accessories

The X-Pro2 works best with the MHG-XPRO2 Hand Grip which reduces camera shake especially when using heavier large aperture lenses. The grip need not be removed when using a tripod and it enables users to swap batteries and SD cards easily. Also, there's the BLC-XPRO2 Leather Case for additional protection. This case comes with a cloth that wraps the entire camera when it is stored in a bag.
