EF 28-80 1:3.5-5.6 II is a lightweight, compact, wide-angle standard zoom lens. Standard zoom lens with the same construction, optical system, and exterior as the EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 V USM. The only difference is that instead of a USM to drive the Autofocus, it uses a DC motor. The circular f/3.5-5.6 aperture and 20-80mm focal length produces a beautiful and natural background blur when shooting. Other features include closest focusing distance of 0.38m, 58mm filter size, diagonal angle of view: 75° - 30° internal focusing, for fast and quiet autofocusing.

DC motor
A DC motor drives autofocus quickly. Excellent holding torque ensures the point of focus is reached accurately, without overshooting. Furthermore, full-time manual override is available, making it possible to adjust focus without leaving AF mode.

Smooth background blur
A virtually circular aperture diaphragm gives out of focus regions a softer, more uniform feel. Sharp foreground objects stand out against a smooth blurred background.

Sharp imaging
Images are sharp. At the 80mm focal length, a postcard can fill the viewfinder frame.

Wide span of focal length
This lens can cover all commonly used focal lenths from wide-angle 28mm to medium-telephoto 80mm.
