The Canon XA65 is a professional digital video camera designed for high-quality video recording. It offers several features that make it suitable for professional videography and filmmaking.
The camera features a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor and a DIG!C DV 6 processor, which work together to provide excellent image quality and performance. With the XA65, you can record videos up to UHD 4K30 resolution, allowing you to capture footage with high levels of detail and clarity.
The camera is equipped with an integrated 20x optical zoom lens, which covers a focal length range of 29.3 - 601mm (35mm equivalent). This helps you get closer to the action and capture different perspectives. For connectivity options, the XA65 features mini-HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs, allowing you to connect the camera to external devices such as monitors or recorders.
The camera also offers infrared capability and optical image stabilization, which helps reduce camera shake and ensures steady, clear footage, even in challenging shooting conditions. With the USB-C output with UVC support, you can connect the XA65 to a computer or other devices for live streaming or video conferencing.
The camera features a 3.5" touchscreen LCD for easy menu navigation and frame composition. Additionally, it has a tiltable OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) for more precise framing and monitoring.
The XA65 supports recording in both XF-AVC and MP4 formats, giving you flexibility in choosing the file format that best suits your post-production workflow. For audio recording, the camera offers dual XLR and mic/line audio inputs, allowing you to connect external microphones or audio sources for professional sound quality.
The XA65 supports dual SD relay and simultaneous recording, enabling you to record footage to two SD cards simultaneously or automatically switch to a second card when the first one is full.

Shoot, record, stream
Shoot high quality 4K UHD video with the compact XA65. As well as outstanding Over Sampling HD processing, advanced autofocus, a Canon 20x optical zoom lens and HD livestreaming in UVC 1 via USB-C over a computer, capture high quality footage in either XF-AVC or MP4 formats.
Compact professional 4K UHD camcorder
Capture stunning 4K UHD and superior Full HD images thanks to a 4K 1/2.3" type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor. Over Sampling HD processing delivers Full HD images from the 4K sensor.
4K 20x optical zoom lens
The Canon lens covers a 29.3mm wide angle (35mm equivalent) plus a powerful 612mm reach with Dynamic IS. A digital zoom boosts to 800x with 5-axis image stabilisation.
Fast, precise focusing with face detection
Adjustable focusing speeds and advanced Hybrid AF system give fast and precise focusing. Use the 3.5-inch LCD display to set focus by touching the AF point required. Face Detection AF and Face Tracking are available while Manual Focus is set via the focus/zoom ring.
XF-AVC and MP4 for flexible recording
Choose from XF-AVC or MP4 recording formats. Record XF-AVC 4K UHD 160Mbps at 25P, plus Full HD 45Mbps at 50P/50i/25P. For smaller files, record MP4 4K 150Mbps at 25P and Full HD 35Mbps or 17Mbps at 50P/25P.
Multiple shooting functions
Output options include 3G-SDI, simultaneous backup and relay recording via dual SD card and Infrared mode. For specialist capture, record Slow Motion in Full HD 0.5x or Fast Motion in 4K/Full HD up to 1200x. Colour match with other Canon cameras via the custom picture menu.
Livestream and more
Stream HD footage via UVC 1 over a computer or add a date and time stamp with OSD recording. Two XLR terminals on a detachable handle plus 4-channel linear PCM bring pro audio options.
