The Canon RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM lens is a full frame compatible zoom lens that covers the popular 55mm to 210mm focal range (in 35mm equivalent terms). The lens features an image stabilizer, stepping motor AF system and a seven-blade diaphragm. It also has a minimum focusing distance of 0.28 feet (0.73 meters) and a maximum magnification of 0.27x.

The RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM lens uses the same stepping motor technology as other recent Canon lenses with image stabilization, including the RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens. This means that it is quiet when autofocusing and can focus on subjects as close as 0.28 feet (0.73 meters), which is less than half the distance of most other 50x zoom lenses for full frame cameras with image stabilized systems.

The Canon RF 50×85 zoom lenses feature image stabilization that corrects for camera shake at any focal length from wide angle to telephoto, allowing more hand held shooting in low light situations or at long zoom settings.
