Canon RF-S 18-45mm IS STM Lens

The RF-S 18-45mm IS STM Lens from Canon is a standard zoom lens that covers a wide 18-45mm range, providing a 35mm equivalent focal length of 29-72mm. The f/4.5-6.3 aperture is useful in low light situations and it can be stopped down to as small as f/32 when necessary. The optical construction of 7 elements in 7 groups includes two aspherical elements for enhanced contrast and clarity. A Super Spectra coating has been applied to the elements which allows for more natural colors to be reproduced.

The autofocus system utilizes an STM stepping motor that operates quietly and allows for smooth focus pulls. It also makes this lens compatible with RF-S-Mount Lens/APS-C Format cameras without any change necessary. A Optical Image Stabilizer helps compensate for camera shake, up to four stops of shutter speed correction depending on the focal length used and shooting conditions. The manual focusing ring has been integrated into the overall design so that it will not rotate during use and its size can be customized by selecting one of three available positions on a custom control ring via a switch on the barrel housing.
