EF 35mm f/1.4L USM is the descendant of the EF 24mm f/1.4 USM. Its optical system includes polished aspherical lens elements along with a floating element; it offers a high image quality with excellent correction for both wide f/1.4 aperture and outstanding definition and aberration effects over the entire image area. In addition, the lens's ring USM and silent AF operation make it an outstanding L-series lens for both advanced amateur and professional photographers. Fast aperture and swift focussing
The EF 35mm f/1.4L USM has a maximum aperture many stops faster than that found on a standard zoom lens, allowing a photographer to keep shooting hand-held when light levels begin to fall. An ultrasonic motor (USM) enables extremely fast focusing in near silence, and a floating lens element means consistent sharpness throughout the focusing range.

Aspheric lens element
Thanks to an aspherical lens element, the EF 35mm f/1.4L USM produces images that are distortion corrected. Consistent image quality all over the frame is ensured.
