It consists of 16 elements, four GMo Aspherical Elements and Air Sphere Coating that helps reduce flaring and ghosting. Camera shake is very well reduced thanks to the lens’ optical image stabilization with 4 stops. It ranges from 24mm wide-angle to 105mm of focal length telephoto. The lens has a constant f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range which is typically a plus for L-series lens. A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives autofocus very fast, and in near silence. Whenever needed, Full-time manual focus override is available to make your desired adjustments. The lens is made to be dust and water-resistant.

Image Stabilizer
The EF 24-105mm F4L IS II USM features Canon's four-stop Image Stabilizer (IS), making it ideal for handheld work. Image Stabilisation permits the use of shutter speeds up to four stops slower than normal, with no perceptible increase in image blur from camera shake.

Super UD and aspherical lens elements
The lens incorporates Four GMo Aspherical Elements to eliminate chromatic aberrations, ghosting, and flaring. Aspherical lens elements correct for spherical aberrations. Air Sphere Coating
Air Sphere Coating ensure accurate colour balance and enhance contrast. They also reduce flare and ghosting which is a common problem caused by light bouncing off a camera's sensor.
