Canon 12 x 36 IS II Binoculars

The Canon 12x36 IS II binoculars with a high magnification of 12x are ideal for nature watching and astronomical observation. It has a built-in vari-angle prism (VAP) Image Stabilizer that eliminates hand held shake and lessens eye strain. Curved surfaces make them easy to grip. Environmentally lead-free glass was used in the 12x36 IS. Aside from being environment friendly with lead free optics, it has an extended battery life for use in image stabilizing. The doublet field-flattener element offers the viewer an excellent image quality in every peek. For superior contrast, Canon made the binoculars in a super spectra multi-coated body and designed the whole package to be in a lightweight and compact construction.

Waterproof
Will survive submersion up to one metre underwater for five minutes. Not suitable for prolonged underwater use.

Weatherproof
Can be used in rain or snow and rinsed in running water to remove mud and dirt.

Porro prism
A combination of right-angle prisms that ensures the image is the right way up for viewing. The use of prisms also shortens the distance between the objective and eyepiece lenses, reducing the size and weight of the binoculars.

Roof prism
Performs a similar function to the Porro prism, but can be fitted in a straight barrel for a streamlined appearance.

Super spectra multicoating
Extremely thin layers of chemicals applied to the surfaces of selected lenses and prisms to reduce unwanted reflections. This improves image sharpness, contrast and colour balance.
