The Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 is a versatile "3-in-1" powerhouse that functions as a 4K broadcast production camera, a live studio camera, and a 6K digital cinema camera. Featuring an advanced 6K CMOS sensor and Generation 5 Color Science, it delivers cinematic image quality with 13 stops of dynamic range and exceptional low-light performance up to 25,600 ISO. The camera is uniquely flexible, coming standard with a 2/3" B4 lens mount for traditional broadcast work while including an active EF mount adapter to accommodate professional photography and cinema lenses. Equipped for professional workflows, the URSA Broadcast G2 supports a massive array of file formats, including ProRes 422 HQ, H.265, and 12-bit Blackmagic RAW. It offers nonstop recording through dual CFast 2.0 and dual UHS-II SD card slots, as well as a high-speed USB-C expansion port for recording directly to external SSDs. Three Cameras in One
The URSA Broadcast G2 is a flexible production tool that functions as a high-end ENG broadcast camera, a live studio camera with full remote control, and a 6K digital cinema camera. This versatility allows broadcasters to use a single camera body for everything from breaking news and sports to high-end cinematic commercials and feature films.
6K Digital Film Sensor & Color Science
Featuring a large 6144 x 3456 sensor and Generation 5 Color Science, the camera provides the same imaging technology used in Hollywood digital film cameras. It offers 13 stops of dynamic range and a dual native ISO for incredible low-light performance, ensuring clean, low-noise images even when shooting under ambient or studio lighting.
Interchangeable Lens Mounts
The camera comes with a professional 2/3" B4 broadcast mount installed, but also includes a spare active EF mount. This allows you to switch between parfocal broadcast zoom lenses for live events and high-resolution photographic or cinema lenses for film work. Optional PL and F mounts are also available separately.
Built-In Optical ND Filters
To handle various lighting conditions instantly, the G2 features high-quality 2, 4, and 6-stop ND filters with IR compensation. These filters are specifically designed to match the camera's color science, allowing you to maintain a shallow depth of field or specific shutter angles even in bright daylight.
Dual Media Slots & USB-C Recording
For maximum reliability, the camera includes dual CFast 2.0 and dual SD UHS-II recorders, allowing for automatic "overflow" recording so you never miss a shot. Additionally, a high-speed USB-C port enables direct recording to low-cost external SSDs, which can be moved straight to a computer for immediate editing in DaVinci Resolve.
Advanced Broadcast Connectivity & Control
The URSA Broadcast G2 is built with industry-standard connections, including 12G-SDI I/O, timecode/reference input, and balanced XLR audio. It supports the SDI remote control protocol, allowing a director at an ATEM switcher to manage color correction, tally, and lens parameters while the operator focuses on framing.
