32.5MP APS-C CMOS Sensor 

With the 90D high-resolution 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor, users can expect images of impressive clarity and dynamic range. It also has a sensitivity range of ISO-100-25600 and low noise to support working in very low lighting conditions. The camera's sensor and image processor gives fast performance throughout the camera system and an ability to shoot nonstop up to 10 fps, record video in UHD 4K30p, and even record high-speed 1080p Full HD at 120 fps.

45-Point All Cross-Type AF

Along with outstanding still images because of the optical viewfinder, the wide-area 45-point all cross-type autofocus system gives fast and precise focusing to even low lighting conditions to -3EV. When using telephoto lenses fitted with extenders, 27 of these points can focus down to f/8 and the center dual cross-type provides increased precision at brighter aperture. Additionally, because of the cross-type design of the sensors, it can acquire greater accuracy in mixed and low-contrast lighting conditions, while the 45 sensors work well in tracking and keeping the focus on moving subjects. Users have four AF area selection modes which include single-point AF, Zone AF, Large Zone AF, and a 45-point AF auto selection which allows your camera to automatically choose a single point. 

Dual Pixel CMOS AF System

Shooting and viewing in live view is easy using a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system that has 5481 selectable autofocus points. The focusing system gives fast and smooth performance just like how camcorders acquire focus. Two separate photodiodes are integrated within each pixel in order to give a dense and broad network of phase-detection gathering elements throughout the image sensor by reducing focus hunting. This allows for a quicker and more direct control of placing focus.
