Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD for Sony E-Mount Lens

The company has just announced the development of a compact and lightweight, high-speed telephoto zoom lens specially made for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. Compact and Lightweight

This lens was developed particularly under the concept of "making high-speed zoom lenses user-friendly". Model A056 has a compact and lightweight design which makes it the ideal match for full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. 

Consistent 67mm Filter Diameter

The 67mm filter diameter is consistent with all other Tamron lenses in the series. This greatly reduces cost and packing space when you're working with ND, PL, and other filters. This feature makes photography extremely convenient and fun. 

Superb Optical Performance

The model's optical design includes several glass elements to contribute specifically to the lense's superb imaging performance. Additionally, the lens short 0.85m (33.5in) MOD (Minimum Object Distance) expands its overall versatility.

Extremely Quiet and Fast

Model A056 has also adopted Tamron's newly developed VXD or Voice-coil extreme-torque Drive. This linear motor focus mechanism allows for a super quiet and quick autofocus drive. 

Moisture-Resistant Construction

Additional features that allow for a spectacular shooting experience include a Moisture-Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coating. Not only does this make outdoor shooting very feasible, but maintenance also becomes one less thing to worry about as well.

Compatible with Various Camera-Specific Features

The 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD is fully compatible with different camera-specific features which include Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF. This latest model joins the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036) and the  17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046). This brings the company's F/2.8 zoom lens total for full-frame mirrorless cameras to three.
