The FE 16-35mm f/4 PZ G Lens from Sony is a full-frame-compatible wide-angle zoom lens that features a constant f/4 maximum aperture for consistent performance and exposure settings throughout the zoom range. Its optical design incorporates Super ED, ED, and aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion for greater sharpness and clarity. A power zoom mechanism can be used for smooth zooms during video recording or when capturing stills. Additionally, this mechanism suppresses focus breathing for more fluid focusing performance.

Two XD Linear AF motors are well-suited to both stills and video shooting and provide fast and quiet autofocusing performance. Further benefitting both stills and video shooting, an internal focusing design maintains the overall length of the lens during operation to contribute to consistent handling. Additionally, a physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth iris transitions while recording video or silent shooting.
