Even though they also made the SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art for DSLR cams that have the same focal length and F-number, this one comprises of new optics wholly dedicated to short flange focal length, thus enabling compactization. If you look closely, you will notice that the barrel's diameter is shorter than the DSLR version by 1cm. Additionally, it just weighs 796g, about 2/3 the weight of the DSLR version.

Optimized AF for e-Mount

Shooting at speed with high-precision AF control is done with the AF drive control program as well as the high-speed communication that are tuned for each lens.
