The Ricoh Theta X is the latest 360 camera from Ricoh. It's not quite as small as the original Theta, but it does have a few new features that make it stand out from its predecessor. These include image stabilization, real-time stitching, a 2.25" touchscreen for preview and control, dual 1/2.0 Type 48MP CMOS Sensors, up to 60MP JPEG photos and much more. Other features include 360° live streaming in 4K30, Bluetooth and MIMO, 46GB internal memory and client mode for 3rd party app development.
The Theta X has two cameras on each side of the device which work together to produce 360° photos and videos with a resolution up to 5760x2880 pixels (5.7K at 30fps). Each camera has its own sensor allowing for real-time stitching of both images into one seamless panorama with no geometric distortion or stitching errors—something we've seen on other devices.

The first time a large 2.25-inch LCD touch panel has been equipped on the THETA series. Enables you to check images you took right there in minutes. Detailed shooting settings can be made on the touch panel without using the smartphone app. Record natural 360-degree images using up to approximately 60MP (11008 x 5504, 11K) still image shooting and high-precision stitching. Supports an external memory card in addition to the internal memory capacity. Also supports shooting for a long period of time because the battery is replaceable. Shoot incredibly realistic spherical images and videos using video shooting with improved image stabilization at up to 5.7K, 30fps video. Achieves wireless high-speed transfer of still images and videos to a smartphone. Due to the built-in GPS (QZSS) and A-GPS, accurate position information can be acquired to embed into 360-degree photos.

The maximum shooting time for recording 5.7K/30 fps and 4K/60 fps videos is approx. 10 minutes (at an ambient temperature of 25°C) due to the temperature rise of the camera. The maximum time for streaming 4K/30 fps live streaming is approx 25 minutes (at an ambient temperature of 25°C). The firmware update adds 2K mode, which means that the maximum time for 2K/30 fps live streaming can be distributed for even longer periods of time. If the temperature in the camera rises rapidly due to the surrounding environment or shooting conditions, the shooting time will be even shorter.
