Built for Panasonic's full-frame mirrorless cameras, the LUMIX S 85mm f/1.8 is a fast, portrait-length lens characterized by its bright f/1.8 maximum aperture and sophisticated optical design. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture is well-suited to working in low-light conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for isolating subject matter and working with selective focus techniques. Two extra-low dispersion elements are incorporated within the optical design to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to realize greater clarity and color accuracy.

A Linear AF motor is used to deliver quick and quiet autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override for making fine-tuned adjustments quickly. The Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus techniques. Its internal focusing affords quick focusing speeds while maintaining the overall length of the lens during use. Additionally, this 85mm lens also features a weather-sealed construction that protects it from dust and moisture and permits shooting in inclement conditions.
