FujiFilm XF 23mm F1.4 R Lens

The premium wide-angle lens is constructed to expand the performance of the Fujifilm X-Trans CMOS sensor for its highest picture quality. The fast aperture of around f/1.4 – f16 and 62 mm filter thread, lets you shoot a hand-held even in low light scenes. Its autofocus would let you get the right angle of the object, plus it has 11 elements in 8 groups (includes 1 aspherical element) which generates lovely bokeh for creative images. Lens distortion has been decreased to the absolute minimum using only optical rather than digital adjustment, thereby bringing the highest possible image quality and the lens elements are treated with Fujifilm's multilayer HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) for better physical feature. Maximum aperture

Lightweight

Focus

Each aperture ring has a marked full stop, but still has click stops for every intermediate 1/3 stop setting, also with an 'A' setting for automatic operation. This aperture ring only needs a gentle touch to move through the aperture range, which is great for making quick adjustments, but care may need to be taken when changing lenses, as the aperture ring is easily moved as a result. Auto focus is fast and precise, locking onto subjects quickly in good light.

Sharpness in the centre of the frame is very good at its maximum aperture, but then the clarity throughout the edges of the frame falls behind by quite a bit. Stopping down increases performance thru the frame, with sharpness to the edges of the frame that reaches pretty good levels by f/2 and peak performance being attained between f/2.8 and f/5.6, the sharpness here is very outstanding all through the frame.

Build and Ergonomics

Keen on details
