Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Circular Fisheye Lens gives near or exact 180° diagonal angle of view for digital SLR cameras with APS-C size image sensors, producing remarkable images with distortion exaggerated perspective. This lens has a convenient gelatin filter holder at the lens' rear that allows usage of gelatin filters that gives less optical path disturbance. Astrophotography and Aurora photography are made easy by F22-F2.8 minimum to maximum aperture while its equisolid angle projection system's quantifiable angle/area relationship enables scientific applications. Quick and silent close focusing capability is at hand's reach, thanks to HSM-driven auto-focus, full-time manual focus, and its 13.5cm minimum focus distance and 1:3.3 maximum magnification that allows subjects to be viewed up to 1.8cm near. Not surprisingly, the Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Circular Fisheye Lens also contains the Sigma Super Multi-Layer Coating that passively eliminates flare and ghosting and a special built-in hood that serves as a protection against harmful extraneous light. Use this lens and shoot for astronomy image sets for scientific or practical purposes and it will surely deliver. It is made to be compatible only with APS-C DSLR Cameras.
Product Features in Detail
Fisheye lens designed for APS-C digital SLR cameras
The Nikon version produces a diagonal angle of view of 180°(154° for Sigma, 167° for Canon). The diagonal field of view of this fisheye lens can be used to create amazing image expressions that cannot be seen with the human eye, such as exaggerated perspective and distortion. The lens produces a large depth of field making it suitable for a wide range of subjects.
High level of optical performance
The optical design, exclusive to fisheye lenses, provides correction of color aberrations and ensures superior peripheral brightness. The Integral hood blocks out extraneous light and the Super Multi-Layer Coating minimises flare and ghosting, creating superior image quality.
The close focusing capability allows close-up photography
The minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm/5.3inch, and maximum magnification of 1:3.3 allows subjects to be as close as 1.8cm/0.7inch from the lens' front element. The close focusing capability together with a large depth of field allows close up photography that covers objects surrounding the photographic subject.
F2.8 Large aperture
It is an ideal lens for Astrophotography and Aurora photography. The large depth of field enables photographers to emphasise the subject.
Equisolid angle projection system
Due to the quantifiable angle/area relationship it produces, this lens can be used for scientific applications.
HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) Hyper Sonic Motor
The HSM models provide ultra quiet, high-speed autofocusing as well as full-time manual focus override. Gelatin Filter Holder This lens is equipped with a gelatin filter holder at the rear, allowing the use of gelatin filters.
