Impressive Lens with 20x Optical Zoom and Wide Angle
The DMC-TZ55 is equipped with an advanced lens system called the LUMIX DC VARIO ultra wide angle of 24mm with 20x optical zoom. The lens unit is small enough to fit, despite its versatile zoom range from 24mm ultra wide angle to 20x telephoto, the slim housing is due to the twelve elements in ten groups, including three aspherical lenses with six aspherical surfaces and two ED lenses. Its Intelligent Zoom uses digital zoom to increase the zoom ratio even further to the equivalent of 40x, not comprising the qulaity. The POWER OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), built-in, which reduces shake and noise when shooting at slow shutter speeds.

Thanks to the excellent signal-to-noise ratio of the MOS sensor and the noise reduction system in the image processing engine, photos and videos at any sensitivity are in best quality when taken and recorded. Its fast digital signal output technology puts itself in fast burst mode on mechanical shutter 10 fps fixed and 4 fps with continuous AF setting. Burst shooting with the flash on is also possible.
