For all the intense action that extreme sporting activities bring, you need a camera that is equally intense. That's where the Nikon KeyMission 170 Action Camera comes in. Providing a 170° angle of view, its NIKKOR Glass Lens lend clarity to its UHD 4K Video Recording. Regardless of the shaky terrain where this camera is used, video blur is limited by the electronic Vibration Reduction. Meanwhile, recording footage over a long period of time is made simple through Time Lapse and loop recording. Hands-free operation is also possible with the help of the supplied remote control. Meanwhile, the 1.5" playback LCD can be used to review shots or adjust camera settings. As tough as the activity is, the KeyMission 170 is equally tough because it is waterproof for up to 10 metres and shockproof for up to 2 metres. The cold will not bother this Nikon action camera for it is also freezeproof for up to 14°C. Sharing recorded media is also a breeze with its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity while playback on other devices is possible by using the HDMI and USB ports. The Nikon KeyMission 170 Action Camera is also equipped with a 1/4-inch socket for attaching related accessories.
Product Features in Detail
Portable but dependable
Lightweight and compact, KeyMission 170 can be mounted and positioned where you need it, and it won't weigh you down when you're trying to enjoy the day. (Approx. dimensions: 66.4 x 46.8 x 42.7mm and weighs approx. 120g).
Epic shots all the time
The 170° perspective of KeyMission 170 makes every moment look epic, and its superior Nikon image quality produces videos and photos that really draw you into their story. Record the most dynamic, striking images, thanks to a high-quality NIKKOR lens with an f/2.8 max. aperture that enables shooting in lower light than many action cams. Electronic Vibration Reduction image stabilization keeps your videos sharp and steady, while a wind noise reduction feature provides clear sound.
Ready for adventure
KeyMission 170 is ready to capture life, wherever it may lead. With no additional housing, it's waterproof down to 33-feet, freezeproof to 14°F, shockproof up to a drop of 6.6-feet and resistant to dust and grit. Take it to the beach, water parks, the pool, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snorkeling—wherever the action is happening. Add the optional WP-AA1 Waterproof Housing, and KeyMission 170 can go as deep as 131-feet, perfect for SCUBA diving trips.
Videos in 4K clarity
Make your friends and family feel like they were there. Record in 4K Ultra HD at 30p, a resolution four times higher than Full HD, with clear stereo sound. Because the fine details are preserved in sharp, high resolution, your videos will draw people into them. Information about the camera's horizontal, vertical and rotational movements is recorded and then used to counteract vibrations and shakiness during playback for smooth, steady videos (Full HD only).
Built-in LCD
KeyMission 170 makes it easy to take beautiful photos and video, thanks to its intuitive menu and controls. Check your view and easily change settings using the built-in LCD screen. The supplied ML-L6 Remote Control enables shooting even in the heat of the action or while wearing gloves—start and stop recording and tag highlights to help with editing later. You can even use your smartphone as a remote monitor for KeyMission 170.
Capture videos through time
With KeyMission 170, you can get really creative. Transform a long action sequence—like a bike ride on your favorite trail—into a thrilling time-lapse movie, or set Loop Recording to a time interval (from 5 minutes to 60 minutes) and capture short clips continuously.
Look, no hands
Use the supplied remote control to tag moments as highlights while they are happening. This makes editing so much easier, when you can quickly find all of your great moments. You can also combine all of your tagged moments into one epic video—a personal highlight reel.
Share your stories
Videos and photos from KeyMission 170 can be quickly viewed, edited and shared with a compatible smartphone and the SnapBridge 360/170 app. The app maintains a constant connection with KeyMission 170, giving you the power to set up the camera, shoot remotely, change settings and automatically transfer and share photos, all from a smartphone.
Don't forget the socket
The Nikon KeyMission 170 can be mounted just about anywhere. It includes a standard 1/4-inch socket for attaching to existing accessories, and Nikon offers more than 10 mounting accessories: adhesive and suction mounts, helmet and wrist straps, a chest harness, KeyMission extension arm, handy grip and more.

1. Unless otherwise stated, all figures assume a fully-charged battery and an ambient temperature of 23 {+-}3°C (73.4 {+-}5.4°F) as specified by the Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA). 1 Dropped from a height of 200 cm (6 ft 6 in.) onto a surface of 5 cm (2 in.) thick plywood (changes in appearance, such as paint peeling off and deformation of the drop shock portion and waterproof performance are not subject to the test). These tests do not guarantee that the camera will be free from damage or trouble under all conditions.
2 Battery life does not reflect the use of SnapBridge and may vary with the conditions of use, including temperature, the interval between shots, and the length of time that menus and images are displayed.
3 The remaining movie recording time (the amount of time that can be recorded for an individual movie) displayed at the top of the shooting screen depends on the remaining amount of space on the memory card. Recording may end before this limit is reached if the camera temperature becomes elevated.
