Ease of Use
The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS is a is a lightweight and compact standard zoom lens that only weighs 195 g. You can feel the stiffness and sturdy built of the lens though it is very light. It complements the style of the X-M1 and yet it’s simple and elegant to use.

Premium build
The overall built of The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS is very robust keeping it fit to the X-M1 body that is tough as well. The lens has a plastic mounting and barrel, just as the same as the aperture rings and plastic focus, while built with a non-rotating 58mm filter thread. The grip is also as sturdy as the body as has a rubberized grip band and a wide zoom ring 

Built-in OIS
The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS has a built-in OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser). You can turn it on and off through the camera's main menu system.

Focal Range
The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS lens has a wide angle of view of 83.2 degrees at the 16mm end of the zoom range. If you will check at the 50mm end, you will see that the angle of view narrows to 31.7 degrees. 

Distortion
Fujifilm always rely on an image auto correction technology, and now it is used again for a better reason. From just a standard photographer perspective corrected RAWs or using JPEGs , you will not have to worry because at 16mm there's a little barrel distortion of just below 1%. So you don’t have to worry about distorted images.

Focusing
The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS lens is powered by a high-precision stepping motor. You will notice that auto-focus is quite fast, very quiet and not too much hunting in low-light. The front of the lens does not rotate on focus, which will be good news for anyone looking to use the lens in using with a graduated neutral density filter or polariser.

Chromatic Aberrations
Chromatic aberrations are typically seen as blue or purple fringes along edges in contrast, they are not really much of a problem with the Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS lens; the lens limits the presence of these fringes from your images.

Macro
The close-focus point starts at 30cm from the sensor plane at 16mm and up to 40cm at 50mm, and the maximum magnification 0.15x is at full telephoto. That is way different from a macro lens.

Bokeh
Bokeh is a term used if you captured an out-of-focus area in photography; it is usually defined in qualitative terms, such as creamy / smooth / harsh etc. Fujifilm have concentrated to this side of lens use, incorporating a 7-segment diaphragm that has rounded blades for attractive bokeh. 

Vignetting
The image auto-correction has also controlled the vignetting quality. The light falloff would stay at below 0.5EV (f-stops) which are actually hard to notice. Amusingly, the technical vignetting is to its peak at 16mm f/3.5 vs f/5.6 which would be not a regular thing to happen if it was a natural vignetting curve.

MTF (resolution)
The Fujinon made suitable resolution figures in the MTF lab. The center performance is usually very good to superb at large apertures to its medium settings. At f/11, the diffraction takes a rather higher toll but reducing the quality ratings. With the Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6, the lens performance is always in favor of you.
