Aerial imaging has been made easy with innovations by DJI with the Mavic 2 Pro. It combines features that we love about flying with its power, lightness, portability and high-speed, high-quality visuals by co-engineering with imaging powerhouse Hasselblad - surely, there is no other drone and partnership of its kind in today's market. The gimbal camera has a 20-megapixel with 1-inch CMOS Sensor with an adjustable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11. There is so much flexibility when you capture images or shoot videos whether it's at the peak of dawn to high noons and onset of dusk - you can be assured to shoot at any time of the day with its 3-axis gimbal.
The Mavic 2 Pro takes after its predecessors and improved them greatly to create an aerial imaging powerhouse. It has an improved OcuSync 2.0 Digital Video Transmission System, Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing, 4k Ultra HD video, Up to 31 minutes of flight time, up to 72kph in sport mode, ActiveTrack 2.0 and additionally a Hyperlapse video recording.
Product Features in Detail
Co-Engineered with Hasselblad to Create an Excellent Imaging System
DJI co-engineered in partnership with Hasselblad after two years of resarch - ensuring that the Hasselblad L1D-20c gimbal camera by capturing 20-megapixel aerial shots with the iconic Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) with stunning colour detail to a tee. The Hasselblad gimbal is designed with a brand new 1-inch CMOS sensor with active sensing area four times more effective than the original Mavic Pro. You're sure to capture more information in every pixel for better dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio and excellent performance in low-light conditions with its adjustable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11. The Mavic 2 has a 3-Axis Gimbal to provide smooth, stable footage in just about any situation.
The Mavic 2 Pro supports a 10-bit Dlog-M colour profile that's perfect for HDR imaging and for flexibility when you do colour grading in post. This is also the same when you film your aerial shots with its 10-bit HDR Video. Mavic 2 Pro's video colour rendering is so rich in detail, including brighter highlights and increased contrast.
Fly Faster, Longer, and Quieter
The Mavic 2 Pro is a powerful flight platform among DJI's current drone line up. It can fly up to 31 minutes - which is currently the longest flight time for a consumer drone, a max speed of 72 kph when used in Sport mode and with no wind conditions. It also features DJI's low-noise flight technology.
Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing
In a bid to fly with lesser worries from external forces, the DJI Mavic 2 has an improved omnidirectional obstacle sensing. It has obstacle sensors on all sides of the aircraft. It's also designed with Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) to allow the aircraft to actively avoid obstacles in front of and behind it. Additionally, it has a Bottom Auxillary Light for when you use it in low-light conditions. The light also assists the downard sensors.
Intelligent and Easy to Use
The Mavic 2 can shoot Hyperlapse with amazing stability and processeses these videos automatically. As you shoot in any of the four Hyperlapse modes: Free, Circle, CourseLock and Waypoint, the Mavic 2 can shoot JPEG and RAW photos simultaeneously and save it on a microSD. It also made improvements both in hardware and software with ActiveTrack 2.0 to give you a great tracking experience at a whole new level. It has precise recognition with its 3D view of the environment through the main camera and forward dual vision sensors for greater recognition and accuracy. With the ActiveTrack 2.0, you can track fast moving subjects like cars and boats at speeds of up to 72kph when Sports mode is used. Just make sure it's not windy and your environment is unobstucted when filming.
Aerial Shooting Modes
There are four aerial shooting modes with the Mavic 2. These are:
Point of Interest (POI) 2.0: The Mavic 2's GPS distance measurement technologies is a delight as you can circle around and shoot a specific subject.
Waypoint 2.0: You can tap your desired waypoints and point of interest with the DJI app - this makes it easier for you to plan a flight path quickly and also save it for your next flight.
Asteroid: Your Mavic 2 quickly flies down from a height while spinning in on your subject.
Boomerang: Once the aircraft has centered on a subject, the Mavic 2 will fly around it in an elliptical pattern until reaching its starting location.
