The inclusion of the duel XLR input and audio interface means the need for a dedicated sound recordist may not be needed on small footprint shoots as you are able to manually control and monitor professional grade microphones internally! Some of the other pro-style features include Hybrid, Normal, Face Only, Manual Focus, Instant, and Canon's Medium autofocus; fast- and slow-motion recording, full manual control, optical and electronic image stabilization, a 3" touchscreen LCD, user-assignable buttons & infrared mode!

Excellent Image Quality
The Professional XA40 features a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor and supports 4K UHD 25P recording with a wide 29.3mm angle of view as well as 20x optical zoom. Additionally, with the powerful image stabilisation function achieved via its Dynamic Mode and 8- Bladed Circular Aperture, you'll be able to achieve superb image quality every time.
Impressive variety in quality and motion
Realise even greater emotion in visual expression with slow (max 0.5x) and fast (max 1200x) motion recording for both 4K and FHD, achieving a high-quality MP4 50P (35mbps) recording.
Image Stablisation
Five-axis Image Stabilization enables an electronic correction of roll and tilt which reduces image distortion substantially; allowing you to achieve a steady shot, even while walking.
Aesthetically pleasing bokeh
The XA40 features an 8-Blade circular Aperture, designed using the EF lens series technology. This technology enables you to achieve natural, smoother and circular out-of-focus areas.
3D Real-time Lens structure
The Lens structure of the XA40 enables real-time responsiveness in a three-dimensional space, supporting the optical image stabilization Canon lenses are known for, as well as the quiet operation and fast zoom needed in a video lens.
