The 500D (52mm) has a double-element accessory connected to the front lens which changes the closest focusing distance from infinity up to 250mm (approx. 9.9") from front of lens thanks to its 4x magnification. It makes close-up photography quick and easy. The close-up lens is connected in front of lens via screw like a filter. 500D comprises of 2 achromatic elements that fixes chromatic aberrations. It does not affect the high optical function of the EF lenses.
