Tokina’s newly developed, proprietary VCM
Tokina’s proprietary VCM (Vibration Correction Module) technology emphasizes maneuverability. In scenes where the use of a tripod or monopod is not an option, VCM provides about three levels (CIPA standard) of vibration control to ensure dynamic performance in any photo field.

Ring-shaped ultrasonic motor
The newly added ring-shaped ultrasonic motor is quiet and enables minute adjustments between AF and manual modes to dramatically increase operability. (S refers to the ring-shaped ultrasonic motor.)

Aperture
The relative aperture of the lens was set to F-4 to achieve a telephoto zoom lens that is easy to use in terms of both function and lens size.

Balance and Comfort
Using a wide design for the focus ring, which is positioned relative to the zoom ring, achieves optimal balance and increases holding comfort.

A Portable Long Range Lens
The dedicated hood (BH-672) designed to not take up space during storage.
